as a general rule, the sun is meant to symbolise life and prosperity, as it's the source of all life. subsequently, it's often seen as a sort of hope/positivity, and power as well!


drought

perseverance/death/scarcity

droughts occur when there's a lack of rain in an area. as such, it's associated with scarcity and death. it can also be seen as a symbol of perseverance - you've got to get through the tough times before good things come.


rainbows

hope/new beginning/inspiration

rainbows are a beautiful phenomenon that occur after rain - something thought to represent negativity. as such, rainbows are associated with hope and new beginnings, as well as inspiration due to their beauty.

grief/cleansing/renewal

rain is associated with grief, as if the sky is crying. however, it's still essential for all living things to survive, and as such it also commonly symbolises renewal and a cleansing period.


thunder

strength/authority/anger

thunder is often considered to be a warning sign from nature. it represents a great strength, associated with gods like thor/zeus. as such, thunder is also thought to represent authority, and anger.


lightning

punishment/destruction/change

lightning can wreck great havoc - there's not many things that cause a giant spark of electricity! as such, it's associated with destruction and punishment. as it comes unpredictably/suddenly, it can also symbolise change.


fog

confusion/danger/mystery

fog/mist often limits your sense of sight, causing confusion. it's also seen commonly around swamps and forests, places previously associated with monsters, witches, and all things magical - and dangerous!


blizzard

disorientation/isolation/ending

like fog, blizzards remove an element of vision, causing disorientation! as such, it can be easy to get lost, and isolated. blizzards are also considered to be a symbol of the end, or a new beginning.
